1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Code-Along (the “Service”), operated by Syed Abu Bakar, Sole trader based in Saudi Arabia (“we”, “us”). By creating an account, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the Service.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to accept these Terms on its behalf.
2. What the Service provides
Code-Along is an online learning platform offering interactive Machine Learning courses delivered as Jupyter notebooks. Notebooks currently run entirely inside your own browser.
We describe a paid “Pro” plan on our pricing page. It is not yet available for purchase, we do not currently take payment of any kind, and nothing in these Terms obliges you to pay anything. If we begin offering paid plans we will publish updated terms covering fees, renewal, cancellation and refunds before taking any payment.
The Service is provided for educational purposes. We may add, change, or remove courses, notebooks, and features at any time.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate registration information and to keep it current. Notify us promptly at syed216645@gmail.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
You may not share your account, or transfer it to anyone else, without our written permission.
4. Acceptable use
When using the Service, you agree not to:
- Use it for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of any applicable law or regulation.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other users’ accounts, or our infrastructure — including the compute environments that run notebooks.
- Use the provided compute resources for anything other than completing course material — including cryptocurrency mining, network scanning, hosting external services, or bulk data scraping.
- Upload or execute malicious code, or attempt to disrupt, overload, or degrade the Service.
- Scrape, republish, resell, or redistribute course content except as permitted in section 5.
- Circumvent any access restriction, rate limit, or security measure.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section, in serious cases without prior notice.
5. Intellectual property
The Service and its course content — notebooks, text, exercises, datasets, and branding — are owned bySyed Abu Bakar or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property law.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the course content for your own learning. You may keep copies of notebooks you have worked on for personal reference. You may not redistribute, publish, or use the content commercially or to build a competing product without our written permission.
6. Your content
You retain ownership of the code, notes, and other material you create while using the Service ( “Your Content”). You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service — for example, saving your notebook work and tracking your progress.
You are responsible for Your Content and for ensuring you have the right to use any third-party material you introduce into it.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service, and may perform maintenance that causes temporary downtime.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you — for example, by email or an in-app notice — before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or continuously available, or that the course content is accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.
Course content is educational material, not professional advice. Any code or technique you learn here is used at your own risk.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Syed Abu Bakar will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you have paid us in the preceding 12 months, or USD 100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Termination
You may delete your account yourself at any time from your Account page, which permanently removes your profile and learning progress. If you would rather we did it for you, contact syed216645@gmail.com. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, or if we discontinue the Service.
On termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive — including sections 5, 6, 8, 9, and 11 — will continue to apply.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia, and Courts of Saudi Arabia will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where mandatory local consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
12. Contact
